As 2018 draws to an end, we here at Studio Sitges would like to remember some of the moments of the past year by sharing a few images from this last year’s moments in the studio. We wish you all a very happy 2019 and hope to see you all here at the studio next year again!

Last week we had a visit from a top international car manufacturer who wanted to shoot their new model in the driveway and on the street in front of the house. They came, set up and got the shots in a little under two hours, and then moved on to get more shots of the car on the winding roads in the fields and vineyards between Sitges, Vilanova and Ribes.

This production team came all the way from Germany to shoot here in sunny Spain where it's no problem getting those spring or summer shots in the middle of winter for the upcoming summer season campaigns.

Two Atomos Ninja V were recently delivered and promptly put to the test her at the studio. These pocket-sized Monitor Recorders are very compact with a screen size of 5" and only 25mm thick, weighing only 360 grams. The very bright HDR anti- reflection screens produce crisp footage that shows really well even in bright daylight, and you can instantly play back, slow down and analyze your footage frame-by-frame right away.

For many cameras getting 10 bit isn't possible without an external recorder like the Atomos V, making it not only a great tool to properly preview the footage instantly with the correct colors, but also the only way to unlock the full potential of certain cameras.

The moment we’ve been waiting patiently for these last months has finally arrived. Today we received the very first XF IQ4 at the studio and it’s truly a magnificent piece of equipment.

Phase One is the world's leader in digital medium format photography and RAW processing software solutions for professional photographers. This new digital back has an incredible 151 mega pixel resolution bettering the previous model the IQ3 by 50%.

Some of the most exciting features of this new monster camera - apart from the incredible resolution - are the new tethering options. The firewire port is gone but instead there are three massive new tethering options.

• You can now tether with inexpensive ethernet cables that come in literally any length and don't accidently disconnect as easily as firewire cables, but also powers the camera eliminating battery concerns.
• Fast direct USB-C connection to hard drives, meaning you can shoot via USB-C to your laptop or an external hard drive directly, something we have all been waiting for, for a long time.
• And the most exciting: WiFi RAW tethering. No cables at all. You can shoot wireless and have a 151 million pixel image pop up on your laptop screen.

There are also improvements in storage options, and as mentioned above you can now shoot directly to your hard drive via USB-C, or a XQD card option that has a 400MB per second write speed, the fastest available at this moment. The new IQ4 has two card slots and can write to an SD card back up at the same time as tethering.

The FS7 was designed specifically to be a comfortable handheld camera even after long hours of shooting and to support hours and hours of recording without having to change memory cards. And of course, deliver the latest in resolution, exposure latitude and color reproduction. It's also built to be sturdy and lightweight and is isolated from dust and water spray.

Let's take a closer look at the specs of this camera. It can record 4K DCI (4096 x 2160) or 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) at speeds up to 60 frames per second, and Full HD at speeds up to 180 fps, which translate into a beautiful 7,5 times Super Slow Motion if your project plays at a cinematic 24 fps, this without sacrificing bit depth and no windowing of the sensor.

The FS7 also supports 4-channel audio input and recording, which enables you to record form up to four different microphones simultaneously, perfect for interviews for example where you want to record the interviewee and the interviewer on different channels and at the same time record ambient sounds and the camera operators voice memos.

The Peluni is a 2015 Azimut Magellano 53 motor yacht moored here in the Sitges port of Aiguadolç, only 25 min from the Barcelona Airport. It can take up to twelve people and can sleep six people in three separate cabins, not including the captain who has his private quarters.
